九份之游 & 基隆廟口夜市 ♥ 0 comments
Had a short trip to Jiu Fen on a beautiful Saturday, 9/11 with my dear ...
Took a train as usual from 龜山車站 (Gui Shan) to 瑞芳車站 (Rui Fang). You need to take a bus up and it is available up ahead and across the street because it's a weekend. So there is no bus available infront of the station (Try to ask around if you are unsure. People over there are friendly and helpful ^^)
I always hear my friends who went Taiwan talking about how nice is Jiu Fen, but I had never been to Jiu Fen nor Taiwan at that point. Thus, didn't know that there was a history behind the name~ Sounds cool. So... 九份 (Jiu Fen) is actually an old street, that housed 9 different families during the first years of the Qing dynasty. And because they wanna have 9 portions everytime a shipment arrived, it eventually became the name of this small village.
In fact, it was really kind of a small shopping area and I finish the area within an hour. Maybe partly coz we did not stop to eat and what's more is that its a weekend, the place was flooded with people! Can you see? the whole stretch was filled with people..
and... ta-da~ I finally got these souvenirs myself!! don't you think they are cute? as usual, wanted to buy many many, as they represent many different clan (e.g. 原住民,卑南族,阿美族等...) .. after much struggle, I decided on these 3, look more "original" because I don think there is like sailor kind of clam? haha...
and so we finished one round of Jiu Fen, without buying any thing except for the keychains and we did not even stop over for any snacks, as everywhere was crowded. haha... long queues! The view from the top is nice... overlooking the sea, as well as the houses along the slope...
A feel of "theatre" or "opera" concept... Seems like we are being brought back to the older days... decided to go Luodong Night Market but then just by waiting for the bus down to Ruifang station is a killer. left at our 4 or 4plus when it is still consider a bright day... and see what happen... it became dark and we were still at Jiu Fen! Reason: all the buses are full and we cannot even board + everyone was just squeezing and crowding around, which makes it even harder for us to see the line. Ended up telling dear that we should take the bus up to the last stop, which was just one stop away because we will never be able to board the bus with this crowd. Imagine waiting and walking around, thinking the earlier stop will be less crowded... obviously we are wrong... spent our time waiting for a bus and we were only back at Ruifang station close to 7pm? *Stupid Me~ should have tot of taking the bus to the last stop and back down, since everyone is waiting at the so call "Jiu Fen" main bus stop.
We didn't have much time to really shop around Luodong as we need to catch the train back to Guishan (which is the last train) and we were only able to walk around for less than an hour. Dear mentioned that he should have ride, since it's good weather, so we would not have wasted the time waiting for the bus.
haha... ya~
Take a look at the medicine from Taiwan...
Flu.fever.sore throat... but i think this was for my fever...
6 pills in a sachet to end the night...
sore throat was another 3 pills? So I had a total of 3 sachets, which was 18 pills just for flu/ fever + 6 pills for sore throat. I supposed I had never taken so many pills just coz of flu/ fever...
*showed my aunt the photo and she was like "wa... so many... eat all one time? haha... ya.. just for one cause.
As for a supposed-ly pretty sunday, it turns out to be rather bad... because it was raining~!!
and what's more is we are meeting Cynthia to head over to Jilong Night Market.
thanks to dear's brother for sending us over to the train station...
took a train to 八堵車站 (Ba Du) as we need to change train to 基隆 (Jilong), which so happen that we board the same train as Cynthia. haha...
but weather spoils everything as not many stalls were opened, street was mainly empty except for all the food stalls. so no photos taken and we ended the night early due to the rain too...
hais...
